This statement, along with the sentiments that surround the death of Elijah McClain, are heartbreaking but shows the truth of what it means to be a Black man in this country. Eliijah was a sweet boy who left a mark on those he encountered. His death was easiliy avoidable and in vain. “”Good or bad,”” a victim is a victim. Doing something wrong is not a justifiable cause to be killed at the hands of police. We must use this situation as an example moving forward.
