Breaking the Stigma

Did you know that fewer than three national studies have focused on mental health treatments for Youth and Young Adults of Color with major disorders like depression and anxiety? This lack of research means we’re missing crucial information to develop effective, culturally relevant treatments. Stigma, reliance on non-clinical supports, and concerns about cultural relevance often prevent Youth of Color from seeking the care they need. These barriers can lead to harmful myths surrounding mental health. It’s time to change this narrative and ensure our Youth feel supported and understood. As part of our commitment to supporting Youth of Color, we provide valuable resources such as our curated journal prompts. These prompts are tools designed to encourage introspection and exploration of cultural identity, resilience, and personal growth.
