Dr. Angela L. Harris

Dr. Angela L. Harris (she/her) is an AAKOMA Project Subject Matter Expert. She offers mental health and wellness workshops to Black Churches, community agencies serving marginalized communities, and corporate entities, and aims to promote the intersections of mental health, wellness, faith, and spirituality. She owns an LLC, hosts the #NoBibsBurpsBottles Podcast celebrating Black women childfree by choice or circumstance, strives to decrease mental illness stigma, and normalize that everyone has challenges that they can overcome and manage with support. She maintains a particular focus on the mental health needs of African Americans.

Dr. Harris is a proud graduate from the nation’s 1st HBCU, Cheyney University of Pennsylvania. She earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Wright State University and currently serves as the Assistant Dean of Students at a small liberal arts college in North Carolina.

Fun Fact: I played drums in my church growing up. I’m not Sheila E., but I have an affinity for female drummers!
