I am a rising junior at Florida International University and am on the Executive Board for the Black Student Union. I am the CEO of my own non-profit, Gifted Grads; which aims to educate, guide, and love on high school seniors going through the college admissions process. My interests in youth of color mental health began with myself, as I was discovering my place in the world and more about my blackness, I too discovered I have anxiety. As an Afro-Latina, talking about mental health in both my Black community and my Latino community is taboo. My passion for mental health stems from wanting to create spaces for youth, adults, disabled, people of color to speak their truth and learn about what makes them special. My objective with everything I do is to approach it with love and learning.
